I know what's up with everyone signing up but then saying nothing?

Surely people like dave the rave (hi!!), adele (adele!!!) and mr. blanekty blank ("xxxxxxx!!) can't of all the sudden become quiet people.

right?

Hi everybody!
I signed up and tried to post, but it didn't take. Then I moved, and I just now have internet again. So, anyway......

I'm running the new LED scoreboards at Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs National League Baseball Club (that's actually on the paychecks).
They are paying me to watch baseball !!!!!!! It is, without a doubt, ridiculous. Don't worry, they still have the old green scoreboard, too.
My official title is In-Game Presentation Assistant.

Also, as always, I'm still playing music. I'm the touring keyboardist for the Sea and Cake, and I have a side project with the guitar player, Archer Prewitt. We are finishing a new record this week, to be out on Thrill Jockey in October. I'm also playing with a lot of local bands you might not have heard of, The M's and Head of Femur among them.

And also as usual, I'm bartending to support my music habit. Eleven years and counting at the Metro, a great live music venue in Chicago.

This site is a great idea. I'm sorry it took so long for me to answer.

Hey Dave!

I'm glad to hear about your ridiculous job! It's been so long since I've seen you. Good to know you're well. This site will keep us all connected. If I'm ever in Chicago, I'll look you up for sure-

Dave: What ever happened to Poi Dog? I am sorry I did not ever get to see when you were in the D.C. area. I am still around, though not on air. I am digging dirt for the State of Virginia, literally, as a soil scientist. Go figure. There are really no decent stations in the DC area. My 13 yr old daughter is into music, of course, but doesn't listen to a lot of stuff I was into. I have gotten her into B52's and a little Zappa and a Richmond band called Ululating Mummies. Glad to hear you are well. Do you know anything about Miles?

Dave, great to hear from you! As a fellow Cubbies fan ... well, yes, that's a ridiculous job indeed, but you deserve it.

Hi y'all, here I am.
Still playing with Poi dog Pondering, still working for the Cubs (I can't believe they pay me!), still with a textbook case of Peter Pan syndrome! :D
Poi dog is coming out with a new record on our own label in late March, less disco-y and more rock and soul oriented this time. We're at http://www.platetectonicmusic.com and http://www.myspace.com/poidogpondering.

And we're doing a little acoustic Midwest/East Coast jaunt coming up soon-
Thursday 1/10 Madison, WI at High Noon
Saturday 1/12 Three Oaks, MI at Acorn Theater (a really cool small town/place to play)
Sunday 1/13 Chicago at The Hideout
Friday 1/18 New York City at Joe's Pub
Sunday 1/20 Philly at World Cafe Live
So if you live in those cities or know someone who does, come on out, I'd love to see you.

Dave "the Rave"
P.S. How 'bout dem Tigers?!!???!!

Yes, those are the only ones for now, but I'm sure we will be more extensive after the record comes out. We usually play the 9:30 Club when we play there.
And yes, I watched the game. I was a little worried at first, but they pulled it out in the end. Whew!

Dave... Joe's Pub is cool, intimate, has great sound and good food. You'll like playing there. Your show is sold out -- good for you, ;( for me.
See you're in Philly on Sunday, so if you're still in NYC late Saturday afternoon would love to catch up with you.

You might want to check out Great Jones Cafe (BAR) or Bowery Hotel Bar. Both are around the corner from Joe's Pub, completely different from each other and pretty cool.

Hello - Anybody there? Just found this site this morning. I'm the other Meredith -- Meredith Nelson. Now living in the Bay Area. I'm still good friends with John Brewer aka Jay Michael Brash, who also lives out here. Dave, Paul and Dez - would love to catch up with you guys. I'm on Facebook also - under my married name, Meredith Landy.

Love to all -
Meredith (Nelson) Landy
