Good folks:

It is with regret that I note the passing of honorary KLSU-family member Danny Dean.

Danny's main conection to KLSU came from his tenure as former station manager of WBRH. Many WPRG/KLSU staff previously worked for 90.3, and therefore likely knew Danny in his long time @ 'BRH.

Danny's connection here was also as one of the local folks with true passion for local non-commercial radio. Some of you may recall the early days when WPRG and WBRH competed with our two flavors of rock. Between the stations we may have had 40 watts of transmitter power, but I offer the listener benefitted from the battle to see who could get more giveaway tickets or perform tricky live broadcasts.

The 'BRH crew -- which later included Danny -- made good radio, and as a result made us that much sharper. He cared about radio, and I will miss him.

Services are at Rabenhorst East (Tuesday 1.31.06).

Hey Paul!

Great to hear from you, though sad it is with news of a death. How have you been doing? I've kinda kept track of your whereabouts via Robert Carroll (who I work with at WWNO).

Not that I could add anything to what my dear friend Paul said, but I would like to mention Danny's closeness not only to myself (we helped each other at various times) and Paul, and as a mentor to many staffers, but he was an especially close friend to Keith Stokes Those who know Keith should take an opportunity to reach out to him.

Danny Dean, Requiescant in pace.
