I found some old pics when the station was closed-circuit AM operating out of the Student Union.

Enjoy.

I don't know what was used in Tiger Stadium but the control board and all the tape machines were mono. I found an old air check I'll post to that page so you can hear how the station sounded. We were a bit Top 40 back then.

Best,
Park

Posted a very embarrassing air check on:

http://videopark.com/wlsu.htm

The first voice you hear is Jimmy Beyer clowning around.

The quality is pretty good for 33 years ago.

Excellent, Park! Thanks so much for posting these! I really liked the music choices... and did I detect a slight British accent? That always sounds impressive. My brother (11 years older than me) was listening to a lot of that music at the time, so I grew up with it. No doubt that WLSU would have been on his radio whenever he was home.

Again, very impressive! Thanks again.
